Several Iowa State University technologies have been selected to be highlighted at the upcoming TechConnect World Innovation Conference and Expo. Held May 13 – 16 in Anaheim, California, TechConnect is the world’s largest showcase and accelerator for emerging technologies.

Participants in the Innovation Showcase at TechConnect are chosen by industry experts from hundreds of entries; this year two Iowa State technologies were chosen. Chemistry Professor Jared Anderson’s technology “Rapid Enrichment of Viable Bacteria Using Magnetic Ionic Liquids for PCR Amplification and Culture-Based Diagnostics” along with Material Science and Engineering Professor Martin Thuo’s technology “Autonomous Self-Healing and Self-Strengthening Polymer-Metal Composites” were selected for presentation and and both were named as a 2018 TechConnect Innovation Awardee.

This is the third consecutive year in which an ISU technology was honored as an Innovation Awardee. The award is given to the top twenty percent of submitted technologies as ranked by the TechConnect Corporate and Investment Partner Committee.
