The Office of Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer (OIPTT) Industry Contracts Team announced it has negotiated industry and commodity-funded research awards totaling over $27 million in 2018, an increase of nearly $3 million over the previous calendar year. The awards consists of 407 funded research projects representing nearly the entire university, with 158 principal investigators (PI’s) from 47 departments conducting industry- and commodity-funded research projects.
The Industry Contracts team also negotiates material transfer, non-disclosure, data use and other unfunded collaborative agreements for Iowa State University. In the 2018 calendar year, OIPTT negotiated 470 unfunded agreements, working with 314 unique entities, 48 academic departments, and 205 researchers.
