Alicia Smith, Chief Accountant

AMES, Iowa – America’s SBDC Iowa (SBDC) has announced Alicia Smith as their new Chief Accountant. She started her position on June 29.

After spending the last two years assisting SBDC with accounting and grants management on a part-time basis, the SBDC said Smith is thrilled to join the staff as a full-time accountant. Smith has 15 years of public and governmental accounting experience, primarily in the areas of auditing, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Most recently, she was an accountant for the ISU Research Park, where she was responsible for all aspects of the accounting functions. Smith looks forward to expanding her role managing the SBDC grants, as well as working with the regional centers and host institutions.

“America’s SBDC Iowa is ecstatic to have Alicia on our team full time,” says State Director Lisa Shimkat. “She brings plenty of experience and is already familiar with how we operate. It’s a perfect match!”
