Tony Wernimont chosen for Small Business of the Month Award

AMES, Iowa – America’s SBDC Iowa (SBDC) is pleased to announce that Tony Wernimont, owner, Platinum Fitness in Carroll, is the winner of the SBDC’s statewide Business of the Month Award.

Platinum Fitness opened in January 2015 and is a state-of-the-art facility offering many different types of equipment and classes.  There are workout options to meet the needs of all of its members.  Tony Wernimont has overcome challenges in his own life and now wants to help others do the same.  He is partnering with other organizations to teach individuals with challenges how to recover, push through, learn to adapt, and to never give up.  The goals of Platinum Fitness are to provide a positive, welcoming environment, teach proper workout skills tailored to individual needs, and to help client work toward optimal health.

Kimberly Tiefenthaler, Regional Director North Central Iowa SBDC, nominated Wernimont for the award.  She said, “Tony’s story is a great example of the difference small businesses make in our communities!”
