The Iowa State University Startup Factory is now accepting applications for their eighth cohort with a closing deadline of November 30, 2019. The ISU Startup Factory is a 52-week intensive program housed at the ISU Research Park, which provides an avenue for students, faculty and staff to create businesses. The eighth Startup Factory cohort is tentatively slated to begin on January 21, 2020.
Entrepreneurs in the ISU Startup Factory will receive formal training, resources, and access to a network of business mentors, advisors, counselors and investors in two 26-week blocks: the first a formal curriculum centered on business validation, and the second, customized to their individual business needs.
The ISU Startup Factory movement is led by serial entrepreneur and Iowa native-turned-Silicon-Valley-success-story Bill Adamowski. Adamowski joined the ISU Economic Development and Industry Relations team to focus on growing the network of innovation throughout campus. He crafted the framework for the Startup Factory using best practices from the likes of MIT, Stanford and other successful accelerators.
To be considered for admission in the cohort for the ISU Startup Factory, applicants are to apply through the online application form. First round finalists will present to a review panel, with a final decision notification being received in January. The start date is tentatively scheduled for January 21, 2020.
